BOOK 4 – Pitch Anything – Oren Klaff
BOOK 4 – Pitch Anything – Oren Klaff
You may have been thinking, ‘Wow, this guy is reading all these books and is way too enthusiastic about every one of them!’ but you would be mistaken... I selected my fourth book from a recommended reading list on Business Insider, and it was not for me. I could see how someone else might enjoy it, but I thought it was like the Wolf of Wallstreet without any of the cool bits.
It may be because I have never pitched for a large sum of money or been involved in a major bid at a Venture Capitalist organisation, but overall I was not keen on the attitude of flaunting an unsavoury persona in order to alpha someone into giving you money. I hope that the methodology suggested in this book isn’t the only way to win as I am not sure I want to become that sort of character.
This book is very clearly written by a highly successful young American man which just might not translate to my British sensibilities. I found the book to read more like the autobiography of a narcissist than a particularly good how-to guide.
I personally would not recommend Pitch Anything to y friends for fear that they would turn into despicable human beings afterwards, but it has great reviews and recommendations from others so I would not discourage anyone else from reading it.
